About Public Gardens Guide

Public Gardens Guide is a reference for botanical gardens and arboretums across the United States. Start from a state and browse its gardens, or search for a garden by name and see exactly where it sits on the map.

Why we built it

Hundreds of public gardens are open across the country, but there is no single, structured place to browse them by state, see them on a map, or link straight through to an official website. Public Gardens Guide gathers them into one browsable guide.

Where our data comes from

Garden records are drawn from Wikidata, an openly licensed structured knowledge base maintained by a global community, released under the CC0 public-domain dedication. We structure and cross-reference that data, add maps, and keep entries updated as new information becomes available. Where a fact is uncertain or missing — admission, hours, or season — we say so rather than guess. See our methodology for the full detail.
